AN INTEGRATED PROGRAMME OF ACTIONThe activities of CoVE SShaRP form a connected implementation pathway that begins with understanding the current and emerging skills needs of ports, professionals and the labour market.
Research, consultation and cooperation with industry provide the evidence required to design modern occupational profiles, vocational curricula and accessible educational resources. These results are then transformed into practical training, work-based learning, pilot applications and technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Certification, applied innovation, stakeholder engagement and sustainability activities ensure that the knowledge and skills developed through the project can be recognised, transferred and used beyond the project’s implementation period.

WHAT THE PROJECT DOES
Skills Intelligence and Analysis
The project identifies current and future skills requirements in port safety, security, resilience, digitalisation and the green transition. Stakeholder consultations, research activities and labour market analysis help reveal gaps between existing education and the real needs of port organisations.
Curricula and Occupational Profiles
Identified needs are translated into modular vocational education and training programmes and occupational profiles for existing and emerging port-sector roles. The learning pathways integrate digital, green and transversal competences while supporting inclusion and accessibility.
Digital Learning and Pilot Applications
CoVE SShaRP creates accessible digital resources and innovative learning experiences using simulations, virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence and digital twins. These tools make learning more interactive and closely connected to real port environments.
Work-Based Learning and Train-the-Trainer
Learners gain practical experience through real or simulated workplace activities, while trainers, staff and industry mentors strengthen their ability to use modern educational technologies and teaching methods.
Certification and Skills Recognition
The project develops mechanisms for documenting, assessing and recognising skills acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning, supporting transparency, professional mobility and the transferability of competences.
Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability
National Innovation Hubs, applied research activities, stakeholder networks and long-term governance structures connect vocational education with ports, research, technology, entrepreneurship and public policy.

CoVE SShaRP activities are designed to extend beyond theoretical education and produce practical value for learners, professionals and port organisations.
